Welcome to the Helsinki Basketball Festival Tournament!
Helsingin NMKY is proud to organise the Helsinki Basketball Festival junior basketball tournament! The festival brings a celebration of basketball to Helsinki on 14–16 May 2027.
Filled with memorable experiences and moments of success, the festival celebrates the joy of basketball and everything that makes the sport so special.
In addition to basketball, Helsinki Basketball Festival offers a variety of activities for players, parents, guardians and coaches!
Competition Format
The categories at the Helsinki Basketball Festival (for both girls and boys) are as follows:
- U8 (born in 2019) – one-day tournament
- U9 (born in 2018)
- U10 Competitive and Fun (born in 2017)
- U11 Competitive and Fun (born in 2016)
- U12 Competitive and Fun (born in 2015)
- U13 Competitive and Fun (born in 2014)
- U14 (born in 2013)
- U15 (born in 2012)
- U16 (born in 2011)
- Unified
We reserve the right to modify and merge categories if there are not enough registrations for a specific category.
NOTE! If the category you wish to register for is full, please sign up for the waiting list. We will notify you immediately if a spot becomes available due to a cancellation or if we are able to increase the number of teams in that category.
Games and Venues
The first preliminary-round games will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Most of the following-round games will be played on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The placement games will take place on Sunday.
The tournament venues are located in Helsinki, mainly in the Pakila, Malmi and city centre areas. As a general rule, each division will play at the same venue throughout the tournament weekend. However, some games may be played at a venue other than the division’s main venue.
The venues for each division will be announced when the game schedule is published.

- Malmi Sports Hall
- Helmi Center
- Pirkkola Sports Hall
- Hotel Arthur Sports Hall

Registration for the 2027 tournament opens on 30 September 2026 at 12:00!

Lost and Found
During the tournament, lost property can be enquired about at the relevant game venue, accommodation school or Tournament Office. After the tournament, enquiries can be made by calling the Tournament Office or emailing the tournament organisers.
Please include your contact details, a description of the lost item and information about where it was lost.
Kiosks and Restaurants at the Venues
The tournament venues have kiosks that are open according to the game schedule. In addition to snacks and refreshments, the kiosks at the sports halls have staff who can assist you with any tournament-related questions. Namika Areena also has a café and restaurant.
Tournament Staff
The tournament staff will be happy to assist you with any problems or questions. During the tournament, staff members can be identified by their Helsinki Basketball Festival shirts. Representatives of the host teams will also be present at the venues and available to help when needed.
First Aid
First-aid supplies and tournament staff are available at every venue. The first-aid team will be on duty at Namika Areena throughout the tournament.
